What is Nationwide Pass?
Nationwide pass is a very cost effective rail pass for long distance train travel in Japan. It is valid on almost all trains operated on the nationwide network of JR, including shinkansen, limited express, express, rapid and local trains. It comes in two types: ordinary and green car wherein green cars considered to be as 1st class.

The JR East-South Hokkaido Rail Pass is a special discounted ticket available only to travelers visiting Japan (with a short-term visa no longer than 90 days) and holding a non-Japanese passport.
